Order up for Round 2 of the Northridge Makeover Series: Living Room/Dining Room, Entryway. In a word: bright, lively, glam, fun, unique!
The space had a dated 90’s vibe that was in no way in line with the clients style and wood trim wasn’t helping. We ended up painting all of the trim in the house a bright white but left the alder doors (in the other rooms) as they were because a little bit of natural contrast made the house feel cozier. And the bookcases got a dose of Black Beauty by BM that took everything to the next level.
The long, skinny layout of the room, however, presented a few (many) design challenges because the room needed to function as three spaces in one. We needed a designated desk area, a living room, and a dining room, all with distinct personalities but cohesive enough to get along. Like siblings. And it had to look cool.
I’m an idiot for not taking more photos of the desk area because it blends seamlessly into the space and the desk is beautiful. You can see a little bit of it in the leather chair pictures. I’m also an idiot for not taking more photos of the entryway because it looks nothing like the before. We painted the walls, laid new carpet and installed a beautiful matte black stair rail but alas, I have one photo.
