I’ve got bunk beds on the brain. And everybody knows I love a good accent wall! So when I saw the ultimate combination from @beckiowens, I had to stop and admire. 📷: @rebekahwestoverphotography

Our Elkhorn Remodel will have built-in bunk beds and my enthusiasm level for designing them is very, very high!

Question: if you had bunk beds, would you prefer a ladder or built-in steps? Points to ponder...

We had a WEEK! Project 1: finalize all furniture s

We had a WEEK! Project 1: finalize all furniture selections for an October install - because things take a “minute” to arrive these days. Project 2: same as project 1. Project 3: finalize all the custom mill work for an entire house remodel.

As a designer, it’s our job to inspect every detail like a hawk or things will get missed. For example: is the end panel wide enough to allow the cabinet doors to fully open? Will the pull-out trays have enough room in-between each other for tall cereal boxes? Are all the drawers heights in proportion with each other? And etc, etc.

We made quite a few adjustments and revisions on the cabinetry plans because that’s what we do until it’s perfect.

A little elbow grease up front makes for beautiful results down the road. Like this bathroom vanity we did a couple years ago!

If you read my last blog post, you’ll remember that I talked about how to create a winning pillow combination. Here’s how: find a bunch of pillows you love, preferably in sets of threes or fives, and go for it. Different sizes help. We use 22” 20” and lumbar combinations a lot because they are puffy and lovey to snuggle. The only real rule is make sure each pillow makes you smile! Or you can stop by the shop and we will hand pick combinations for you.

Hello! I spent the weekend updating my website to be more SEO friendly and that was a job, let me tell you. Praise Google - it has all the answers to all your questions! (I will now add Wordpress Ninja to my resume.)

Jess at @blueandpine developed my site and built it exactly the way I wanted. We started out as strangers and now talk to each other about our struggles, achievements, and everything in-between. She is wildly talented and fun to work with.

The same should be said for your interior designer. The process of working with a designer to create a space you love, that reflects your vision, is a very personal one. I always recommend that as a potential client, you take time to browse our website because it is so helpful in figuring out if we are the ones for you!
