Waterfront New Build Reveal pt. 2! Staircase, Guest Bathroom, Mudroom

Bon Jour! Today I am revealing the second segment of the Waterfront New Build project. Todays episode highlights some show-stopping architectural elements in the home….hint: staircase, and also celebrates the individuality of the homeowners, who were specific in not wanting “what’s already been done.”

The clients had a vision and some really fun ideas and my job was to analyze them and the overall aesthetic and then say “yep, let’s do that” or “no way, not happening.” The end result of a great collaboration is a super cool house that is warm, inviting, and unique. And I love that it has a story to tell!

A Dutch door. I mean, c’mon! Could you get any cuter?

The hexagon tiles come in three colors so we decided to go with a light and dark gray combination. I knew we would need about eight dark gray tiles for the floor but the pattern wasn’t developed until the tiles were on site. The client and I played around until we found a design we liked and that was that. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut and let it happen organically.

Reclaimed walnut slabs were transformed to create the sliding barn doors. Yes, they are as beautiful, and heavy, as they look in the photos.

The mud room is the ultimate super duo of fashion and function.

Stick around for another reveal coming in a few days!
