Happy Pretty Things Thursday! How is everybody’s work week going? Mine has been particularly productive – fifth gear with the clutch out and I’m feeling good. I even got this entry written which is a small miracle because as we all know, I have a tendency to drop the ball on blog life upkeep.
Today’s edition is all about designers and people that inspire me. From the mother-daughter design duo to the vegan photographer who donates half her proceeds to animal sanctuaries, there’s a lot more to this group than meets the eye. They are insanely talented, but more importantly, good people.
And hands up for Ted Lieu, a decorated Air Force veteran and current U.S. Representative, representing California. I felt compelled to include him in the roster of bad a** ladies because the climate right now isn’t very favorable to men, to say the least. But it’s important to remember that there are gender-equal thinkers out there, plus he just seems like a great guy.

DEHN BLOOM DESIGN
Last, but not least, Allison Bloom is a very successful designer based in the Bay Area. When I was starting out, I came across her name as a “not formally trained” designer, like myself. I reached out to pick her brain about the biz and she was so gracious about sharing information, tips, what not to do’s, and other never-ending things you learn on the job. I will always remember her generosity and cheerleading attitude and I’m forever grateful.
Cheers!
Heather
